What is it?
Tensile strength refers to the ability of a material to be drawn out or stretched. It measures the resistance of the steel to breaking under tension. In addition, tensile strength measures the point when the steel goes from a temporary deformation, to a permanent one. Tensile strength is measured in units of force per cross-sectional area.
