Home / Mill Surface Defects / Edge Ridges
What is it?
This defect appears as wavy edges along the coil, that look crinkled-up. Other names for this defect include pie crust edge, ridge, or edge build-up. This defect can be caused by a very slight increase in coil-thickness on its edge. In addition, a high number of wraps may lead to localized stretching of the material.
