What is it?

This type of steel goes through the process of being coated with a thin layer of zinc. The steel goes through a zinc bath which reacts to give the steel a shiny, gray finish that is fairly strong and protects the steel from corrosion and the elements. This steel is recognizable by its crystallization pattern.

Application

Galvanized steel is commonly used in applications where a high resistance to corrosion is needed. This type of steel coil is used specifically used in automotive exterior body panels for enhanced corrosion resistance. Some other common applications for galvanized steel are construction projects and piping.
