What is it?

Slitting is the process of cutting large coils of steel into smaller coils. This is usually done on a wide coil so to reduce it to several, narrower coils. During this process, the wide coil is passed lengthwise through the slitter and cut by sharp rotary blades.

Application

Slit coils can have many uses. By having the steel cut into thinner slit coils, the customer is able to utilize the material more efficiently and reduce the waste associated with the manufacturing process.
