What is it?
This defect looks like the coil’s edge is higher than its center. This is usually due to zinc build-up on the coil’s edge. It is also known as edge buildup, wavy edge, or spaceships. This defect is caused by excessive galvanized layers on the edge of the coil, causing the edge to stretch as consecutive laps build up.
